I am very lucky to have been given an incredible opportunity to create a walled kitchen garden along with a planting masterplan for developing the existing gardens that surround this client’s property. Being involved from the initial design, landscaping and now having the privilege of maintaining this idyllic space is very unique. It allows hands-on experience to see how the garden evolves and matures over the years.
The kitchen garden is nestled within an established orchard which has been slowly renovated and extended over the last eight years along with the introduction of a wildflower meadow. Other areas of the garden include pleached walkway, many herbaceous borders, rose arch walkway, a moisture-loving planting scheme to the front of the property and a wildlife pond with waterfall. 2023 has seen the installation of a new garden design layout for another part of the garden, closer to the house and will serve as a new space for entertaining and relaxing.
